Erin

Met this lovely girl when I first came to Ottawa. She works at UMI, and is one of the most friendly people I know. We got to know each other in time, and ended up going to Quebec City together, seeing movies at the WIAM One World Film Festival, eating dinner at The Green Door, and perfecting dorky dance moves at Friday night’s open mic and in the living room. She is refreshing in her outlooks on life, her open mind, and her dedication to the Cafe. One hour ago, she left for an amazing adventure to first New York, then Mexico, then Guatemala, then El Salvador. Her absence is going to be felt around here, and I’m going to miss waking up to her baking muffins in the kitchen.

p.s. Erin is the first person I am profiling in a little project I’m calling “People I Meet.” I meet fantastic people all the time, and I’m hoping to capture bits and impressions of them this way. I promise to be as honest as I can.
